We believe that one of the barriers preventing tourists from fully enjoying local cuisine is the concern over food safety. By obtaining FDA certification for our tamarind-based BBQ sauce, we aim to provide a level of trust and reliability that allows tourists to explore and enjoy local flavors without fear.

Bridging The Gap With The Local Vendors

When I began creating my BBQ sauce, I wanted to ensure that the core ingredient—tamarind—was not only of high quality but also sourced sustainably. I chose to work with local tamarind farmers at Vivatcharanwrong Garden NP farm, as they produce tamarind using traditional farming methods passed down through generations. By sourcing directly from them, I was able to help support the local farmers economically, giving them a consistent market for their crops.

Moreover, partnering with these farmers allowed me to promote sustainability and preserve their traditional farming practices. This collaboration also benefited the broader community, as it helped raise awareness of local produce and provided economic support to the surrounding areas. Through my project, I aimed to bridge the gap between local producers and the wider market, contributing to both the farmers’ livelihoods and the local economy.

By bridging this gap, I not only helped increase sales for local vendors but also contributed to boosting the local food culture’s appeal to a wider audience. This approach allowed me to empower vendors, giving them a safer, certified product to offer, while promoting Thai street food to a more hesitant tourist population.
